My name is Stephen Petruska, I currently live in Maine and am 36 years old. I am a single below knee amputee and am very grateful for the experience as it has taught me so much.
I work as an orthopedic technologist and have a background in firefighting and emergency medical services. I was struck by a car in 2011 and worked very hard for almost a full decade to save my leg. However in August of 2020 I was blessed with the opportunity to loose it for good and move on from the pain. I walk with a prosthetic leg and have a running prostheses as well. I want to prove that a disability is nothing more than a different ability.
There are so many people in the world going thru harder times than I and I wish to reach them specifically.
