Role / Project description: Harper is in her early 30s. She is a doctor-in-training and a wheelchair user. A Pediatric Emergency Medicine Resident, she works in the ER of a Level 1 Trauma Center in the busiest and best hospital in Miami. Harper grew up working class then got scholarships to Harvard and Harvard Medical School.

She was a punk kid who got her first tattoo at fourteen. That edge never dulled-only transformed into an addiction to the adrenaline and thrill of emergency medicine. Going through medical school in a wheelchair meant having to work ten times harder than anyone else-and it shows. She's tough and direct with a wry sense of humor, but is also deeply empathetic and fiercely loyal to those she loves.

She works alongside her little sister, Danny Simms, who is a resident in the same ER. Their relationship is intensely close but fraught as the result of them both living through Harper's traumatic T12 spinal cord injury when Harper was 16 - an event that brought them together as much as it tore them apart.
